Accommodation at Murray's house

The house, which can sleep 7 people, is situated on a sunny south-facing slope at 1140 metres in an area known as Le Pey on the west side of the village of Les Vigneaux. Built in 1996, it takes in the spectacular views of the Ecrins Massif and makes the best use of the abundant sunshine. The high insulation values of the building ensure both warmth in winter and coolness in summer. The house has three bedrooms and is equipped with a normal range of domestic appliances (fridge, freezer, washing machine, dish washer etc). WiFi is also included.

The village itself has historic monuments in the form of the church and an ancient wall built to protect the whole valley of Vallouise. The commune of Les Vigneaux is extensive in area, though two settlements house the majority of the 350 inhabitants.

The village now boasts a bakery, two bars, two gites, two carpentry shops and a cabinet maker. About a dozen mountain guides and an almost equal number of ski instructors live in the village. There is a post office (part-time) and a primary school in part of the "town hall" building and ocasional public transport links the village to other settlements along the valley and to the ski resorts in the winter season.
